Are Westin step bars (nerfs) any good? I have a '95 3500 and like the look, also wife has a hard time climbing in (short gal). Thanks in advance. #ad

Statland,

I have a set on my truck, they are OK. The thing I don't like about them is the self tapping bolt used to fasten the support strap to the bar, kind of cheesy. You would think the could provide a real threaded fastner so you could tighten them down to more than 15 foot pounds. The step pads on my drivers side bar are lifting up as well. The vendor I bought them from is shipping new pads and barrel clips so I can replace them .

Statland:

I have the black "Westins" on my 96'
and have had no problems with them
at all. The finish is good on them
and so far my rubber step pads are
still on there. I live in a little
"milder" climate though, so that
probably helps.

I've had my black Westin stepbars on for over a year and no complaints. Rock solid, no vibration, no rust, and the step pads still look like new. #ad
The truck gets driven every day and has no garage to sleep in. Bottom line..... Good product... . Good price!

I had the Westin's on my 94 and really liked them. I had the black finish. I got some pics still up on this website. They were solid. I decided to get full-length running boards for the dually. I would buy Westins again if I were to go back to the nerf bars though.

Got the chrome Westins in a climate not suited to glitz. Love them, never have to polish them and they give me an added side protection. No sweat!
