Hey folks,

I've searched the archives for hours looking for this info

and can't seem to find the answers I want. So here it is. I am looking to add a set of steps to my truck and I'm looking for

your experienced recommendations. I like the look of the Carr

hoops and the Steelhorse steps too. I prefer to not drill my truck

but there's little choice unless I go with a nerf style bar which I

don't like or a running board which I also don't prefer. So guys

what's your thoughts on what step is best and is best engineered

so that I won't be tearing holes in my rocker a year after installing

them? Also the Kodiak powered step is a bit out of my budget

right now.

Thanks,

Rob

I agree that the Kodiaks are nice but I can't wait to buy them

since my knee won't wait any longer. I need something now

and the hoop style are my best bet. As for the Warn 4X4's do

you have them on your truck and can I see a picture of the

installed? I spoke with Warn and they say that drilling is still

required with them.

Thanks,

Rob

Yup, I have them on my truck and I really like them. No pictures I can post. I don't remember drilling but since I have the same truck I guess I did. I do remember I had them on in about an hour. Keep in mind you have to drill for the Carr and it seems all that holds them on is sheet metal. Every time I stand on a friends Carr they flex.

If you have mobility problems so that you are eligible to park in a handicapped parking place you should check with the dealer to see if DC will pay for the steps. When I bought my '95 Chrysler paid for the motor home steps I have on my truck. My wife cannot get in a 4X4 regardless of the type of step if it only has one tread. I have installed two tread motor home steps on my truck. They are mounted on the frame. If anyone is interested in the details e-mail me.
