As far as if they'll work, I'd presume they would. As far as getting one, you'll have to go to a Freightliner or Western Star dealer to get one, or maybe find one online out of a wrecking yard somewhere. Interesting idea, but what do you do about the ugly logo they're using in the grille?

I know there is a picture somewhere on cumminsforum.com. Those trucks are no longer in production as a Sterling. So a wrecking yard might be the best bet.

I am working 2nd shift this week as my night guy went to Florida on vacation. I think that we are having better weather here, but that is beside the point. :-laf

Anyhow, I will look up the grille for the Bullet when I get to work and let you know what they cost. My son and I looked them over at a Daimler function a couple of years ago and I think we decided that the grille, etc. would be a direct fit.

I had to replace my Dodge grille a while back and up-graded to the chrome Laramie style grille. That was real close to $300. 00 just for comparison. :{

Also even they are out of production, there will still be parts at the Daimler PDC's for quite a while yet. I still order parts for the old LTL Fords every week and most of it is still available.

FWIW A Dodge dealer can't break down a Sterling VIN. You have to go to a Sterling dealer for parts. I already tried. The local Sterling dealer is 2 blocks away, so I was looking at them one day. Shadrach

Sterling is a Freightliner, Inc. company. Freightliner and Western Star Truck Holdings, Lmtd. of Canada were both purchased by Diamler Chrysler in '01 or '02. Freightliner Truck Chassis, Inc. is the largest supplier of Motor home chassis in the USA. Sterling was an attempt by Diamler to increase their Medium duty line using their existing Dodge product. I believe part of the Dodge bail out settlement with Fiat involving canning the Sterling line.

I think the deal with Dodge stopped before that. It was killed when Daimler decided to drop the entire Sterling Line. The bigger Sterlings were being sold as a Fleet Truck and/or a lower cost truck. A Freightliner and Sterling side by side with the same running gear, the Sterling would sell for $10,000 less!!!

Decided that they had dumped enough money into it and cut the losses. The Bullet and the rebranded Fuso truck died with it.

There were quite a few orphaned Bullets out there a few months ago at some very attractive prices. A lot of them are 4 x 4 Crew Cabs.

Will have the answer to the grille question shortly, BTW. :)

Alright gang, here it is.

Grille Part Number is MSL 55372524AB.

Selling price is between 450. 00 to 500. 00 depending on your dealer.

10 total are on hand at the FTL PDC's, 8 are in Memphis, Tenn. and the other 2 are in Calgary, Alberta.

More than I figured it would be, but remember the Germans think their stuff is pretty valuable?!?!?!:-laf:-laf
