Hey my first problem and its a real bummer... the controls on my steering wheel do not work. Both sides. They just quit yesterday?

Now I have to reach over and do it manually... yuck! #ad

Actually when I bought the truck I didn't even know they existed... I found them on the way home and had to read the manual to figure out what they did, but now I use them a lot... kinda like the ol' TV remote macho/power thing! #ad

Any experience out there regarding this problem? I tried a search on several key words, but no hits...

I'm not positive, but I think there is a separate fuse for the steering wheel controls. I know what you mean about the lazy/macho thing. The last 4 vehicles I've owned had em. Now I don't wanna be without em!!

Sounds like the clock spring mounted under the steering wheel may have broken. Very common problem on this truck. Take it back to the dealer it should be under warranty.

Clock spring it is (or was)... the service guys/gals had it diagnosed and replaced within 2hours and that included running to a dealer in New Bern NC (15 mi) to get the part!!

Service with a smile (some cute ones too)... at Havelock NC. Definitely 5 stars worthy on this job in my opinion.

While waiting the dealer tried to get me to trade in for a 4WD... I test drove it with the short bed, corn sack seats, 6sp and HO Cummins... I felt the steering problem 1st thing once on the high-way! No noticable power difference from my perspective either.

I like my cadilac version better.
