Steyr-Motors, anybody heard or delt with them?

Hi folks, long time time no talk. . but I'm still around. I'm going to repower my boat this fall and was wondering if any of you are familiar with STEYR marine diesel engines out of Austria...



Ran into a guy promoting them up here in Alaska, his buddy will be dealing them out of Anacortes, WA. Input needed if you got any, thanks, Paul

I don't have any personal experience with them, but from what I've read they're supposed to be very stout and reliable diesel engines. I was looking at lobster boats for a while before I ended up getting a sweet deal on a new Century 2600 WA and noticed a lot of lobster boats repowered with Steyr Diesels. -Glen

Thanks for the reply Glen, I ran into a man making his madin voyage to AK on a pair of them and he has offered me a heck of a deal on a couple for my charter boat. He says they will be some of the first in AK and his job up here was to promote the engines along the way, I'll be checking into them more and make my decision mid Aug. , thanks again, Paul
