Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) sticking e brake

my jacobe e brake is sticking when i start moving, if i apply the throttle very slight ,it is better, but if i launch as normal you can hear the e brake ( in closed position) and the ctd trying to gain rpm and smokes like crazy before the e brake releases. any thoughts as how to fix the problem,i have checked the vac. and its o. k

Clean the filter on the controller. Over time it gets clogged with dust and cannot let air back into the system to release the brake in a timely manner.



The filter is a sintered bronze cone-shaped attachment to the controller valve.

hey dennis, you hit it right on the head with your sug. on cleaning the filter. i cleaned it and took it for a ride, it it working great. thanks for chiming in .

could the same be the problem for a pac brake? It got cold her the last few days and the pb has been sticking shut, or open. Drivin me nuts... ...
