Competition 2006 Ozone Depletion Tour - Atlanta

Anyone notice the rash of plungers sticking this year. I've seen more people stick plungers this year than any other. Anyone have any ideas of whats going on with this? If somebody could figure this out they would have something.

I would think poor lubrication is part of it. The new low sulfer fuel coming is gonna be worse yet. One station that I fill up at now has this fuel.

Trashed a set of P&B's earlier this year. Don't know what it was but I found nothing in the hole system to point any fingers... ... . nothing. I dropped the tank, flushed the lines, cut open the filters... ... nothing, and the stock pump has been running fine ever since.

It seems like the stock pumps don't have the problem. It just happens when you go to the 13mm plungers and barrels.

I agree the tolerances are just too close on 13's. I believe most have gone to a new vendor on their plungers and barrells so hopefully you will see a lot less sticking.

whatched a bunch of pumps eat themselves in burton oh this weekend. the night of smoke and fire was what they called the pull, and a night of smoke and fire it was. sure sucks to see guys ruin so many pumps, and I know a few engines will be or have been ruined too.

re

Yea Nathan I needed to clean my shorts after that one,We pulled the engine apart today,no melted pistons just a bunch of spun bearings. Should have it back in the truck by Friday.

re

If I get the pump back in time. Ryan is putting the new bearings in right now. hope to put the engine back in by tomorrow morning, just need a pump, and some clean underwear. LOL :-laf

What classes are they having there? I seen on PPP's website it is supposed to be the 8000# open class. Any diesel only classes?

open 8000 is nothing more than pro stock gas and pro stock diesel in one class. im not sure about just diesel only class, i can call and find out.

Found this on the Green County Fair website. Looks like the 8000 lb open class is the only pickup class.
