Has anyone else had a problem with power door locks that stick? I find that they will sometimes not unlock or lock (depending on what I am trying to do) unless I flick the switch a number of times. If you had this problem, what did you do about it?

Hey Matt,
I helped a buddy at work fix his a month ago. Take the switch panel out of the arm rest and CAREFULLY disassemble the switch. All you usually need to do is clean the contacts and the switch is like new again.

Thanks, Mick. I should have been more thorough in my description of the problem. The switches are working OK. The solenoids that move the lock shafts up and down make noise, but nothing happens. It's as if they were dragging on something. I've tried enlarging the holes in the tops of the door panels, but there's really no effect from that. Lubrication didn't make any difference. And lubrication needs to be done very carefully due to Arizona's legendary dust. Well, maybe not legendary but certainly annoying.

Matt,
I know the dust, it's legendary #ad
I'm about 90 miles south of you.
Have you measured the voltage you have at the switch and at the solenoid:? Are both doors failing or just one? Those solenoids should have no trouble moving the linkage. The one I had open had all nylon bushings and no lube at all. They would really bang the lock linkage. I would STILL clean the switches!
Mick
