My '99 has recently developed a "hard spot" at the beginning of the pedal travel when I first apply the brakes - it is most noticeable after running with the cruise on for a while. The pedal seems to be stuck at the top of the travel, but with a little pressure make a slight popping sound and then moves normally. The brakes work OK, no leaks, no grabbing, etc. The cruise also drops off for no reason from time to time, usually comes right back by pushing the "resume" button. This started happening about the same time as the pedal sticking, so I'm sure the two are related.
Any ideas? Could it be a sticking caliper, or is there a better chance of master cylinder problems?
