I just drove my dads truck, it is a 2000. The clutch seems stiffer then the last time I drove it. It has been a wile. It has about 70k on it. Has anybody seen this?

There is nothing wrong with it, before my brother change the clutch in his truck it was alot softer than mine. I dont know what the differents were from stock unit to stock unit but you for sure see a change in how hard the pedels are.

Pedal Effort.

All things being equal, as a clutch disc gets thinner (normal wear) the release load increases as the disc approaches its normal wornout thickness. If you could put just a new disc under the same clutch cover and not change anything else, the release load should go down, be easier to push. Now, that being said the entire release system pedal cluster, master cylinder, pressure line, slave cylinder, fork, ball stud, guide tube (transmission bearing retainer) and release bearing are all involved and need a careful inspection and cleanup when any clutch job is performed and in particular when a problem is noted.
