Well I've been broke down on the road for 10 days now waiting for some district manager from D/C to come yea or nea my repair & still nothing. They told me last week he'd be there by Friday, Fri. afternoon they said he'd be here on Tuesday, again no show. Today they said they didn't know if he would make it this week or not. This will be the last D/C purchase for me, if this is how long it takes to get a response from them, I'll be getting an older FL60 without all this electronic BS & let my wallet determine how long I'm down the next time. In the mean time, if anyone knows where I can find a Common Rail to go into a '03, please let me know.

I thinks there is a 800 # to call and give some crap and vent in the back of the owners manual . Maybe the district serv mgr needs to be held accountable.

I can't believe it is going like this! I think that you are being too nice... time to yell & scream & threaten a lawsuit for downtime & lost wages. That will cover a new engine & I bet that cummins will take care of it immediately.

What broke? After reading your sig I see nothing that would be covered. I have an 05 sitting in my driveway waiting for me to fix. I pumped it up and it broke,my fault not DC's. I could put all the stock stuff back on and try to warranty it but why. My bad my pay!

Remember DC buys these engines from Cummins with no warranty for a better deal, the bean counters must have run the numbers. You are at the mercy of DC

I wasn't talking about the problem with the engine... . just the idea that this man has been stuck 1200 miles from his home for 10 days. He hasn't been to work & has been paying to sleep, etc. I don't feel that it is right to keep blowing smoke up his --- by saying Friday... uhh tuesday... . uhhh maybe next week. This is something to complain about! The truck being covered is probably not a possibility & to keep putting him off & saying maybe tomorrow... no next week is messed up. I had the same thing happen to me when my block cracked & feel bad for the guy... 10 days for a man to come look... .come on!

And which one of these bombs has been proven to cause these **** electronic injectors fail? Remember, they have got to prove the mods directly caused the failure. Do a search and see all the stock trucks that this same junk has on.

Actually they don't. They can deny your waranty and make you prove that the TST didn't cause it. Which is what I would do if I was DC.

DC garanteed an unmodified Cummins for 100,000 miles.

LEPage, where are you broke down at? With your additions, all DC is going to do is laugh, remember there favorite catch phrase on injectors and the like. . you had bad fuel in it, blah blah blah  Crap, rent a car to get your butt home and then find a buddies truck yo go fetch yours, what I did when i broke down in L. A. a few weeks back, got stranded with trailer and container on the side of a busy *** freeway. Had the truck towed, found a new friend goes by Bart here that dropped everything and fetch the trailer and took it to his place till i could come down 2 days later and retrieve it. week later truck was done and I grabbed a buddies kid to ride down in the 93 and drove both back.

Once again it seems it's time to bash another guy who's bombed his truck.

This isn't just about warranty, it's about poor service, lack of response and a dealers inablity to troubleshoot a problem. Even if Mr. Page is willing to "pay up", it doesnt sound like there's anybody that can figure out how to fix his rig beyond saying "Duh, I tink the motor is shot".

It doesn't matter what the man has done to the truck... he has been sitting with his thumb up his --- for 10 days. Its not the idea that he has it bombed to the bumper, but he is getting no reply from DC. I would be in the newspapers by now, but this guy is still sitting there waiting. Just imagine yourself in his shoes. This is why I agree with P-dog.

The dealership is obviously not going to warranty your truck. They should at least tell you that though. I would take it to a hot rod diesel shop and get it fixed. Find a good one and those guys know what they are doing. I don't have time this am to read all posts so don't know where you are. Are you anywhere near western or central NC, I'll try to help you, and I know a great deisel man

why not just throw some aftermarket injectors in to get down the road and back to work? im mean you would benifet from them anyway.

By now most of us have figured out that MOST dealers will not/ can not work on our trucks. :(

i can agree with that. i work at a dodge dealer as a assistant service manager, and we do not have a competent diesel tech. we are supposed to be getting one by the new year (cant wait  ) but i only know of maybe 4 in our area that claim to have a good one.

Doesn't matter, sure the law is there that says "prove it" but they will still say no cuz the mods are there and they get away with that because... they can. You will spend far more money fighting it than paying for the repair and moving on, they know it.
