We had some computer problems because the truck ignition was turned on (without the transmission in it) when guages were put in, and was giving a TPS voltage too high fault code, not letting od come in.

Lockup occurs in any gear including first, but wont come on in od.

Lockup worked fine from 18-55, still does, until in od. Didnt have od before, now that od works, no lockup?

Pressure tests are coming.

Thanks again to all

Eric

Hi, I'm the owner of the truck in this discussion. First let me say thanks to all the TDR members and to ATS for the help to this point. I have spent the last few days getting set up and registered to use this site to clarify whats been happening to my truck. .

 So far alot of time has been spent on the phone with Clint at ATS, He has been helpful talking to me and the mechanic that did the rebuild on the trans giving us benefit of his. experience and expertise I would hope for from someone providing trans upgrades. We are on our way to solving this problem ( I hope!).

As far as three valve bodies from ATS goes, only two have actually been istalled, the first one I recieved had been broken in shipping, the second was installed and I had no lockup or overdrive. The current one (#3) is the second to be installed and after installing the lockup controller from ATS I do indeed have tc lockup ... . still no overdrive. Pressure testing is going to be done as soon as possible, I think this saturday. The mechanic helping me has a lot of stuff going on and it can take us a few days to get together with time to spend on this. There were some connector problems with the electronics that I believe may all be fixed. According to the scanners and voltmeters the valve body is working, next step pressure... ... . Oo.

As far as the comments made about me expecting the vendor to help me with something I installed even though all they did is sell it to me... . thats part of doing business. I spent well over 2k with the vendor and I expect customer support to ensure that all of the products I purchase from them will perform to my satisfaction. I spent time on the phone with more than one vendor concerning their products before choosing where to spend my money, customer service will make or break a product. I cant give an honest opinion of the product yet but I can and must say that I am overall pleased with the customer service I have recieved from Clint and ATS.

I will update with any findings on the cause of the overdrive problem, at this point Im guessing a seal may have been damaged during assembly or install but won't know till saturday. Maybe I can think of a few more mods the truck needs by then!

man, i'm no frappin trans or auto guru but these dodge trucks are real pieces of work... .

my lock up/hunting problem ended up being noise in the wiring harness.

stripped the wires going to the tps out of the harness and it works perfectly.....

good luck

Based on member input, they are not a weak link unless you bomb. I agree if you bomb then you need to bomb the automatic :) Wow you spent $3000, was that for a new installed DTT? How many miles since your upgrade? Any problems? How much HP are you putting out?

wow pitbull, i'm just trying to go down the road... have had problems since i bought the truck. i only keep it cause i like the cummins and the mileage... .

Sorry for your problems, sounds like you might need to trade for one of the new 2002's that the dealers are given away. But from reading your sig. it looks like you might have a new truck if you just replace a couple of more parts :D Sorry I could not resist :)
