FYI -
I run a KSB1-B and DD2's and Smarty towing 13k high profile 5er.
The KSB1-B is laggy below 10#, but above 10# seems to do fine. Towing rarely see over 1000*, generally cruise (flat land Florida) 900*. I am totally comfortable having the wife drive because I know she can not over temp (1250*) it regardless of what she does. The KSB1-B does bark when O/D locks up if the boost is above 10#. My transmission goes into O/D at 45 (1600 rpm) mph. I lock out the O/D and manually unlock it at 52 mph (1850 rpm) so the turbine is spooled up better and better able to handle the rapid rpm drop (drop of drive pressure) change.
Not too sure (lots of air I think) why but the DD2's do not smoke at all even being the older technology tips. I can go WOT from standing still and not smoke (that I can see in the mirrors).
Just adding what I have to the mix, works for me.
