It could be another S300 based turbo, but it is my understanding the Aurora was always non-wastegated. Plus the finish on the turbo is totally different than the Aurora, the Aurora's pretty!:rolleyes::-laf
 
Well now I'm curious to what the heck I got!! Here are some more shots of the turbo... . No marking at all on it? Anyone got a clue? I don't care about pretty TEX. As long as she's puff'in coal!

Looks like a S300 based turbo to me. The compressor wheel looks like it may be making contact with the housing. Have you checked end play? Measure the compressor wheel.
 
if it is a 300 type like mine it is too small for ur (or my)set-up. sorry good news is if its good, htt can upgrade to 62/14 for cheap!
 
My guess is its a B1 bomber. When they first came out, they were grinding the switzer markings off of the compressor housing like that to try and keep it a secret as to what they were. (As if that would work in todays internet age) Looks just like my old school B1... .



Question, what turbo were you running with before??

Yes I did check end play, I can move it over a little but it does not hit the housing... spins free. but close... Pardon my ingnorance but what is a 300 type? Is it a HTT? How do you measure the compressor wheel... I tried but could not get the calipers in their... to short! Thanks guys looks like I was sold junk... but hopefully I can upgrade it.
 
Got ya guys. . thanks. Rubberneck I was running a stocker with a Banks bighead. I'll call HTT and see if they can do something with this turd! If not I guess I'll just have save my ducks and buy what I want. . a shiny new HTT QD 64/14... ... I told my wife I wanted one for my B-day, but somehow she must of thought I would like dinner more! LOL
 
FYI -



I run a KSB1-B and DD2's and Smarty towing 13k high profile 5er.



The KSB1-B is laggy below 10#, but above 10# seems to do fine. Towing rarely see over 1000*, generally cruise (flat land Florida) 900*. I am totally comfortable having the wife drive because I know she can not over temp (1250*) it regardless of what she does. The KSB1-B does bark when O/D locks up if the boost is above 10#. My transmission goes into O/D at 45 (1600 rpm) mph. I lock out the O/D and manually unlock it at 52 mph (1850 rpm) so the turbine is spooled up better and better able to handle the rapid rpm drop (drop of drive pressure) change.



Not too sure (lots of air I think) why but the DD2's do not smoke at all even being the older technology tips. I can go WOT from standing still and not smoke (that I can see in the mirrors).



Just adding what I have to the mix, works for me.

B1 for sure it is . . thanks Chris! I could not find any specs. on this . . mabe too old? But does anyone know the spec on a B1? Also can Htt up grade this turbo. . if so how big? This may work out good after all :)

Hey guys talked to Dennis at HTT today and he advised that it depends on what config. B1 you have but normally you can mod it, some you can't! Possibly 62-64-66 cant tell until you send it in and they disassemble it. But the turn around he said is 24hrs after they get it ... WOW. . very cool I'm shipping out this week... . fingers crossed! Hope this is good info. for other B1 owners... . Also checked for impeller rubbing and it was just smudges from wiping it out. . later. .
