Man this is getting old. After new ball jouints, ujoints,DT bar, dss, thuren steering with heim joints (these three are great), bushings, eccentric bolts, tires, rims, two steering boxes, two alignments, probably more but can't remember the truck still drives terrible. I know it's a truck but it is real bad. This thing will not return to center and is all over the road (no death wobble just very tough to controll. I noticed steering gear #2 which is only 4 weeks old is leaking from the over center adjustment. I have the caster cranked up, could this put strain on the pump and cause a leak? I don't know what to do next. I seem to be just throwing money away at this pint. I am in south east MA if anyone knows of a decent shop that could help.

Toe in

Adam,

I've never messed with my caster adjustment. But after replacing tie rod & drag link from a 99 1 ton to get away from the inverted Y setup my truck came with I had my toe in off and the truck wandered like yours, after setting it correctly it steers fine now. Hope you can find a good shop in your area to help.

Chuck E.

Thanks Chuck, I adjusted the toe in myself after installing the new Thuren tie rod. I spent a day playing with tadjustments. Brought the truck in for an alignment at a reputable shop this morning.

Anyone ever get two bad steering boxex in a row from auto zone?
