Had a post early last week, asking what you guys mean by turning up the boost.

I never really got a straight answer!! I was wanting to know how it is that you can just turn up the boost. I am referencing several past post here that have this same coment>. .

Input please! Would like to know if this is just a slang way of saying that you did something to get more boost or if you turned up pressure someway!!

Lets Get Started

Look at the turbo. You have a wastegate wich controls overboost. The shaft on the wastegate can be adjusted. Back it down all the way. I also added washers where the wastegate is mounted. You also can restrict the boost line that runs to the wastegate. Plug it with something with a tiny hair pin hole. It will still function but will slow down the action of the wastegate. I push about 27 psi of boost.

If yer truck is completely stock no fuel adjustments. You can get a away with by just plugging the wastegate completely.

Thanks Jeff, that was a little more of the answer I was looking for.

I guess that means that I could adjust my TST elbow to restrict the boost line a little more.

I think I may of have done a ohno already. . I have adjusted the elbow to allow max air. . Guess I better fix that bugger>. .

TST elbow

Dont mess with the elbow... . by-pass it! You have a cam plate, so you will have enough fuel to spin it up good. Where the hose comes over the top of the motor to the elbow, pull it off and plug it with a bolt and clamp. On the elbow side, get another piece of hose to slide on there, and plug that hose with a bolt and clamp too. Now, with the turbo-side plugged, the waste-gate wont open at all, and the pump side plugged will allow the fuel to advance earlier (I think). Anyway, this is how I run and see about 33lbs max boost running empty... less smoke too!

I have 370 injectors and the stock plate moved a little bit and with the wastegate hose removed and plugged make 34lbs boost, was 27 with it hooked up.
