Still waiting for my 06 truck

I think there is never a way to tell whats going on - they send these dealer folks to school for creative lying. My Dads favorite story comes from late 1983 when he was awaiting the arrival of his new 1984 Volvo 244GLT. The dealer weaved some tale about how the ships could not leave the harbor in Sweden due to heavy ice flows (bad winter). Sounds good, right? Little did this dim bulb know that my Dad happened to work with a Swede whose parents were still living in the homeland. One phonecall told him that not only had there not been ice in the Baltic in about 500 years (no joke), but they were having one of the warmest winters on record. This is why I told my Girlfriend that the dealer "estimation" meant nothing at all. It will get here when it gets here.

UPDATE! Got the call from Bergen Dodge today - her '06 will be in Newark by the end of the week - hopefully. This is VERY suprising to me, especially after reading some of the horror stories about months of waiting (sorry TASK)... . we must have caught a wave just right or something. OF course, the dealer had to tell a bit of a Tall tale to her - saying he wasn't going to wait for it to be delivered to him, he was going to go down to Newark and pick it up special. UGH. Oh well. If he comes thru on this delivery date, it will be less than 2 months from Order to Pickup. I will truly be amazed.
