My truck contracted a fungus or whatever on a trip to a damp forest area which now lives happily in the A/C evaporator. I can slow it down with disinfectant sprays into the air intake but I think my airflow is being restricted. Has anyone removed their evaporator to resolve a similar problem? Seems like a lot of work and I would feel better before starting if I had some feedback. Thanx in advance.

Make sure your evap. drain is not plugged and that it is down hill. If it is blocked or running up hill you will be growing some UNKNOWN diseases & stuff in there that could start a plauge. #@$%!

When some one deserved it, in the OLD days, we put a fresh dead bird down the fresh air intake plenum. In a few days WOW :-laf :-laf did it STINK inside. :-laf :-laf Oo. Much better than dead fish under the seat carpet:D :D
