A stock 1993 with 63k on the ticker, straight truck. Camper shell but really nothing special. Second owner truck. Brought $15,500 at a auction west of Ashland, Missouri last weekend. This is no joke, I was there and watched it sell. Atterberry Auction and Realty company out of Columbia, Missouri was the aucitoneer. Hard for me to understand why it sold so high. Happy for the seller I guess. :--)

The old classic square truck lines with a Cummins do-it-yourself diesel are in demand these days. DBF

Shhhhhhh! Quit spreading that false information. The 1st Gens are not worth very much..... uhhh, anyone got one for sale?? :-laf :-laf

They are like the old farm tractors. The JD 4020 is worth more now than when new. It don't take a rocket scientist to figure out why, but it takes a rocket scientist to trouble shoot the new units ROFLMAO

It ain't going to get better. There will continue to be an upswing in the demand for these trucks espesially w/diesel motive power. Look at the no. of folks jumping the fence to the first gen board.

The good Pastor is soon to become overloaded.

Supply vs Demand, only there is NO mo' supply. LOL

shuu

now every one with a first gen for sale is going to want more!! they wanted $8999 for mine when i bought it. i payed $5500, and they put a new set of tires on her. if your buying you have to talk them down, and if your selling you have to be firm. i turn down offers all the time. latest was $8000  told him add 4K and its his. he said it would be worth it, but out of his price range. but keep the hype down. i am still lookin for a good w350, DRW club cab for under $10K.

I am not sure the demand is up there myself. I have been looking to sell mine, and so far I have only had 2 people contact me about it. I think it is a fair price, and I would like to get more. It has only been 2-3 weeks though so maybe it will pick up. Actually I want to keep it,and put the engine in my 03 1500 gasser, quad cab. I guess that would be really expensive though.

The demand is there. But mostly it is for the $X$ models. In my area its farmers or horse people that want the trucks. For their use a D model is a crippled version good for dry pavement only.

In the ten years I have owned my truck. I average one offer a month.

I have only had maybe one or two "offers on a whim" on my truck. Nothing I'd consider serious. But, just about every older dude, hiway worker, or diesel head cranes their neck when I drive by. :D Sadly though, I've found chicks don't really dig it :( . Good thing I guess since I'm married  :D

Travis. .

i want one sooooooo much, i need a good donar drivetrain... ... ... and i cant find anything thats cheep enough anywhere close to me :{ :{ :{

What is your idea of cheap enough?Check the classifieds on the site, you should find something,or fleabay is always a good source.

Chris

Well when you drive a beat up rusty truck like mine you don't ever get any offers :( :-laf :-laf . Now the crew cab, thats a different story :) .

Glad this started and evolved. I have a line on a 93 4X4 club cab 5 speed. Body is rough and has 260K on it. They say new trans. should I hold out for $2000. 00 or go for it @ 3? It seems that they are worth allot more for their pieces than in one piece.

I guess the first thing to ask is, what do you want to do with it?

If it's going to be a beater, have them show you the receipt for the new transmission, verify it with the shop, and hand them $3k if it checks out. The 260k isn't a big deal and if the trans is new, the beast will still last a long, long, time.

If you want a nice show-condition truck, it sounds like you'd have to put a few skins into making it into one. That might run the total cost higher than waiting to find one in better condition.

Decisions, decisions... ...

I paid less than $10,000 for mine last year with 73k original on the odometer. Makes me think I got a good deal :-laf .
