Stock 48RE Trans Fluid synthetic?

I just installed a Mag-Htec deep transmission pan and used Amsoil Universal ATF, the install was easy and the Amsoil fluid is all synthetic. If you can afford the Amsoil I recommend using it over ATF +4.

You mentioned you added a friction modifier. What did you use? I have been religiously using LubeGard Red in all my transmissions and transfer cases from a C6 in my '84 F150 to the 48RE in my 04. 5 Ram. I also use AMSOIL universal ATF as well. AMSOIL says not to use any additives, but my transmission shop, Denney's in Phoenix, swears by LubeGard. Check it out here:
