I need a new exhaust manifold for a friends '99. He has an exhaust brake on it with the automatic. I suggested to him to go a multi piece ex. manifold. What is the best brand and best price?

The ATS 3-piece was the go to aftermarket manifold for many years. Good quality piece. There are several others out there now, but I don't have any personal experience with them.

I have been running High Tech Turbo for 250000mi. Great price and service, Give them a call. Cummins for 2nd Gen one piece which will crack same time, same places.
Good Luck CAPT PHIL

All the good aftermarket 3-pieces are licensed off of the ats... I'm reasonably certain its patented.

See if you can pick up a used ats or similar. I think they're worth it.

I have the BD on my HPCR 24 valve and like it. It is a different design inside, with ports and shaping that complements the Cummins exhaust ports. I have used ATS before, too. Shop around. BTW I have an almost new 24 valve stock manifold if someone wants something cheaper, though I much prefer to recommend the 3-piece manifolds.

If I'm not mistaken,an aftermarket exhaust manifold is another CARB no no. Motorhead,if he's in Cali you might want to research this. Too efficient I guess!
