Will the stock clutch hold the EZ box and 275 injector combination?

Truck will be used some of the time for towing 8K lbs.

Thanks,

Shawn

I believe you would be right on the edge of slipping your clutch with this much. I did not have this combo... I had a Blue Box and 275s, and my clutch spun at will.

You might consider staying with one or the other til you want to install a new clutch.

I have the VA and 275's with boost module. Same HP gain as you and my clutch has held fine. Injectors have been in since about 75k miles and I have over 95k now with no slipping. I'm sure if I wanted to drop the clutch at 2000 rpm I could get some, but if you drive it right, I think you will be fine.

I tow at a loaded weight of just under 18k gross. Empty weight of just under 15k gross and I have had no problems. Again, my clutch has over 95k miles on it and it is holding fine.

Good luck, the EZ and 275's make for an awesome tow vehicle.

Shawn,

I've got a 98. 4 2500 4x4, 5 spd, 3. 54 lsd, 275 rv injectors, PE EZ.

I haven't had any problems with clutch slippage so far, but then I haven't revved up the engine and popped the clutch to see what happens.

I also pull trailers pretty frequently with various loads (antique tractors/engines/Bobcat/etc. ) and haven't had any clutch slippage problems.

One variable which might make a difference is tire size. I'd think that if you had monster truck size tires that it would increase the chance of clutch slippage.

I just dropped down a size in tires this past week and am now running 265r75 tires instead of the 285r75 tires I've been running the past couple of years. I've got over 5k miles with the EZ and injectors with the 285 tires without clutch slippage.

I dropped down to the 265 tires (still bigger than the stock 245's) as an experiment to see if my mileage improves. Plus I think the smaller tires will increase the chances of my clutch continuing to hold without slipping.

Shawn,

Just installed an EZ on a 99 with 90,000 miles last weekend. The truck already had 275Hp injectors. With just the EZ and injectors, it would not slip the clutch, but turn on the PowerMax1, and then listen to that clutch slip...

Hope this helps...
