Just wondered if I could see a gain in having the timing set differently on my rig ? Would there be any performance gain or any other plus to this adjustment ?

Look up some of the older threads on the subject. There are quite a few.

Advanced timing is good and bad. For me it was good.

I lost a tad of low- end but top end was better.

Even stock trucks can benefit.

Just was curious, I'm goin' to the Schied Rally this Saturday, and was kickin' around the idea of havin' it done and just wondered if it was worth the cost. Sounds like there really isn't a negative side if it's done right and it probobly wouldn't hurt to have it checked anyway.

well to do it your self it will require a timming tool kit from either snap-on or miller. If you mess with your timming very much the 2oo clams kit would be useful but if you just have it set once you would be better off to have it set by a shop or someone who has the kit.

Also, the engine fuel knock will increase with the advance timming, and my fuel milage went up a little.

I lost just a little power doing this but was not that much, just slid the plate to get the power back.
