I took a 96 4x4 5speed for a test drive today and noticed the stock gagues in the dash. I notice the oil gauge went to 275? It was in the upper left corner, and ever time I shifted it went to 0 then to just over 40. What is this gauge for? Pressure or what? Also the coolant gauge in the bottom right corner went to like 120 or 130 and 90 was in the middle which is were the engine ran at. Whats the deal with that. Is it in celsius? I hope im just confused on the subject. does anyone have a picture of a dash to clear me up.

mine also had a mph gauge. the only difference between my 95 2500 and my 97 3500 were the oil pressure and the engine temp gauges.

Sounds like metric units to me. Doesn't explain why the oil pressure would drop to 0 at every shift though

Well, I bought the truck so its with me now. Im pretty sure its from canada will run the vin in a couple of days to make sure of. as for the oil prssure, its got to be the sending unit cause it will run all day long idleing with 0 pressure on the gauge. Thanks for all the help.
