Off Roading Stock Long Bed

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies

Thanks, TDR Staff

Competition Are my 1/4 mile times ok????

Competition ARP Headstuds??

What are my capabilities off-roading? I have 4X4 for Boat launch and snow skiing and never taken it in the dirt. I do know how to 6X6 on any surface but that is a long story.

In most cases, the truck does well in dirt and trails. The problem comes from the sway bars if you want articulation ... . hence the why the Power wagon comes with electric disconnect of the f. swaybar. If you have good off-road or AT tires, the weight of the Dodge does well. As for a long-bed, you have to watch the break-over angle. A suizuki samari is able to go over a razor back where you would get high-centered. A lift will help this as well as bigger tires. In most cases, a 4" lift and some 35" tires will do very well.

Thanks, but will keep it stock untill warranty is over. I was worried about the centering issue and the stock tires but other than centering how would you rate it?

Good for trails, not very much on mud but if you have the air lower some, in most soft dirt or trails except for sand dunes... ,but for rocks and such it will do just fine. just watch for the breakover angle. If you come on a place where it does drop off steep, try to angle it off ... Also watch axle ground clearance. I only had 9" on my stock truck (front Diff).

Heres a road I did on my stock truck

Tires at that time were AT tires but 1 size over stock. No lift

Great pics. That is what I was hoping for as far as the terrain. When I was in the Army I used to test drive 2 1/2 ton on all terrain. The most memorable was going up a creek until was spotted by a apache helicopter, I had to camouflage the truck until he left. I was only supposed to run them 5 miles on paved surfaces

Trail callled "top of the world" East of Moab... ... See where my truck is parked? there is the colorado river in the background

Here is another view of the canyon.
