I plan on a heater delete as soon as the weather cooperates. One of my options is to bypass the entire assembly, but I would like to add an inline strainer of comparable filtration and flow. What I don't know are the filtration specs on our stock pre-screen filter. Any stats would be greatly appreciated!

I dont believe it's measured in microns, it's a mesh filter.
IMO there is no good reason to remove it. It does what it's supposed to, and is cleanable/re useable.

You can remove it and put on a screw on primary from a class 8, but there's the problem where to mount it etc etc.

Unscrew the bottom bowl, then unscrew the heater element, then put the bowl back on w/o the heater.
No need to reinvent the wheel, it's cheap, effective and already there.

I did the small hose, heater delete, new screen, new fleetguard filter and water in fuel unit.

Heater delete was no big deal at all.

My WIF oring leaked, (the one that came with it) but I think the filter came with one and that worked. Could have been operator error no clue.

Also no issue repriming started right up, have read it can be a pain.
