Stock read end oil was foaming..Normal????

I changed the oil on the rear end and installed the Mag hytec pan. I noticed the stock oil had a lot of foam in the housing/gear area.



Is that normal for a no-load 5 minute run to warm the oil? I thought it was odd.



Oil had 6400 miles on it.

My 04 has 100K and we went to change the oil... found the same thing... we installed a full synthetic... and haven't looked at it again... . I'll have to check and see whats up... .

Foaming is usually caused by overfilling with lube oil. That happens even from the factory.

The factory stuff is a synthetic.

Oil level

I checked the level before I dropped the pan, and surprisingly it was right on the oil level mark stamped on the pan.



I had read here that frequently the oil level was low etc, but it was right on the money.

As long as there was no water in there it shouldn't have been foaming unless it was over filled. Been offroading?
