i just brought my truck in today, for a head gasket change, and after its done, i'm going to bring it in for timing at a local shop, what should i have it set at in stock maybe a little advanced?

Make sure they do it right by finding TDC accurately not just using the timing pin as they can be several degrees off.



biggy238 The norm is 15-16 degrees.



Biggy is right, anymore than that and you have a chance of blowing your new headgasket. Unless you are doing studs then you can do a little more.
