I'm all over the road ,spinning the back tires ,even my wife had to put it in four wheel drive because of wheel spin in the rain. Sure that works but the front is so bad ,you're fighting the binding and jerking every time you have to turn. Is it the power of the truck, bad weight distribution, or crappy tires, (stock Generals)? Is there a good tire that works in the wet?

JPM, I have the same truck but in red. I have a strong preference for the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As. They are an excellent around tire and BFG makes a OEM replacement per Dodge specs. My truck came with the BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/As and they are okay but not so good off-road or in the snow once you hit around 25,000 - 30,000 miles. You may also wish to take a look at the BFG Long Trail T/A.

The suggestion regarding tires with an open shoulder design is right on the money, anything else fills up and only becomes worse with wear. The perfect example of this poor tread design is the Firestone ATX, they were horrible tires when they were brand new!

Good luck!

mine came with michelin - same results with wet conditions - the tires are so hard - can't grip road - there was just light film of rain(not hydroplaning)

Try loading the back end with some sandbags usually added for winter driving. See if that improves traction, and if you were ever thinking about a canopy or ladder rack, either would help. Might be a nice addition and man!-- What a da*% good excuse for adding one! Pickups are light in the rear end and need something back there to improve traction. I would guess that the Dodge with the Cummins have even worse weight distribution than the gassers due to engine weight.

Yep I have the stock BF Goodrich tires and I can break the tail end loose in 5th going up the road to my house. 600 lb-ft will do that! My fronts are wearing on the outside too. I have the toe set right and the pressure is good, but they are still wearing funny. Time to rotate again. Since I already put a dent in my rear bumper I was thinking about upgrading to a beefy off-road style bumper which would help weigh the a$$ down a little. I guess I am lucky because the wife can't drive a manual.

What kind of air PSI are you running? Goodyears on mine. No complaints in the wet.

I had Goodyear Aqua-threads,on a car they were unbelievable in the rain. I'd say about 80 to 90% of dry traction. Do they have something comparable for light trucks? I have tried different pressures, not much traction change.
