Just wondering if anyone knew what the thread was on the stock transmission temp sender? The one in the cooler lines that the PCM uses. I am most likely going to install the isspro sender in that spot and wire the stock one up and out of the way, others have said they did this. (doesn't aluminum melt around 280? :-laf ) It looks to be finer than the pipe thread bushing that came with my sending unit, but since I hate ATF I don't want to pull it out to confirm.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dale - I just used a brass "T" so I could install both senders at the factory location. The fitting on the hard line is a standard pipe thread - I want to say 1/2" NPT but can't remember for sure, and I can't find the receipt for when I bought the parts. If it helps, the outside diameter of the threads on the stock sending unit is . 665" (I knew I kept the old one for a reason:D).

Ok, cool as long as it is NPT I'm fine with that, thanks Dan I was under there looking and maybe it was the dirt or something, but it just looked to be a finer thread pitch than the NPT in my hand... Oh well, guess I will do a transmission filter and fluid change so I can put in the sender and have that gauge do more than jump once every time I turn the truck on. :D

Still think I will just pull out the factory one, I don't want any extra joints that could leak 200K down the road, and since it is as usefull as most idiot lights out it comes to save weight :-laf  :-laf .....
