ok, so the injection pump went on my 98 24v:mad:, i have the fass system and stock injectors, my question is, if i get the Hot Rod will it last longer than the stocker? and dose it really add the hp it claims? is it worth the extra 500 bucks? thanks in advance for the feedback.

if you're a HP junkie ,YES it's worth it. If this truck is just a grocery getter then get a stock pump. I got a MWFI pump for my 98. 5 cheap w/warrantee and no issues.

Check out the special x pump at blue chip. I just bought mine and put it in. I haven't been about to check for any mileage gains but I does seem to have the pep that it did when I first got it.

Industrial Injection's hot rod pump is first class. Mine runs just like stock but stronger like it had bigger injectors. I was told that some lope at idle & some don't. Mine doesn't. As far as longevity, the hot rod & standard pumps will be the same if they are rebuilt by a reputable outfit.

I would just give Industrial Injection a call, ask them the question, tell them what you do with the truck (and what you plan to)... I was considering using a HR pump, talked to II and they did not recommend it.
I will give a second on MWFI for VPs also, honestly I would pay the extra $150 for an II pump, but the extra 150+400 core just kills me, wallet says it is paying $550 more, won't do it.
MWFI core pollicy is great, you dont pay at all if you return w/in 30 days... even comes with postage prepaid UPS label for core return. Have bought 2 from MWFI so far.

So if I have stock injectors should I not get a Hot Rod VP44? That is people seem to be saying.

That is certainly NOT what I'm saying. The HRVP 44 works fine with stock injectors. As I understand it, it has the volume potential of the SO pump with the higher pressure of the HO pump.

I would just get a SO vp44. The HRVP's don't last any longer, just suppose to give you more hp. I have friends with the HRVP's & their trucks don't run any better than my truck. They shake alot more at idle because they lope so bad. You can get a SO pump to dyno just as high as HRVP trucks anyways. Spend the extra $500 on a Quad Adrenaline or other performance parts instead.

we got a 01 with 150hp sticks, gdp lift pump, smarty revo, adrenaline, stock turbo and we put a SO injection pump on it

when we had just the sticks, regular smarty and the puck stack (pre adreanline) we hit 400/991 on the dyno.

I have a hot rod and would not put another one on unless you have done so much else that it is the only way to get more from the truck. I would go stock and get injectors or some kind of a box with the extra cash.

I agree with Greg. I'd do the injectors first too. In fact, that is what I did, but if you need to replace the pump anyway, the extra expense gives you a big bang for your buck next to a good set of injectors.

You will be happy with a HRVP, hit the link and tell Josh I sent you to him for a special price on the HRVP from II.

I have had one in my truck for over a 100k and no lope pushing last time I dyno'd was just over 650hp. Gains with no box on over a SO pump was 148. 75hp on SilverRam323's truck. Here is the dyno run with his SO pump and then same truck same day with the HRVP, NO BOX ON.

Only mods on this truck is a Juice W/A, SPS62, and 90hp injectors... ... ... . and the HRVP, that's it!!!!!!

I hope you are close or correct with, 650HP on a Stocker.

That is good news.

put down 638hp at the fall brawl 4years ago,the truck regularly runs the 1/4 in 12. 1 to 12. 2 secs all on a stock VP44. You must have a strong fuel delivery to the VP and enough air about 65 to 70psi of boost.
