Attention: TDR Forum Junkies What is the difference between these two Turbos? I know that the hx35 has been in like 95+ models. What is the benefit of upgrding my stock 1992. 5 to a HX35? I plan on changing the fuel pump and timing, possibly injectors too. Getting a used hx35 and 12cm2 wastgated turbo seems like it might be a good modest upgrade... .
I have been getting mixed advice about what housing to use... a friend says to just get a wastegated 12cm2, others say a 16cm. If the 12cm2 works for the newer cummins engines which have more horsepower, why not for the older ones?
My friend also talked about ordering the injectors for a stock 89-91 motor non-intercooled andusing them as a moderate upgrade. I know they are 9mm and mine are 7mm, but he says he can use the old sleeve or something.
