OK... I give up. Ive searched threads for an hour now and cannot find a definitve post that says what the 04 3500 stock backspace and offset are. :{

I have chrome 8 lug stock rims and would appreaciate any accurate help so I can start the search for some custom rims for my new BFG 305s.

Thanks, Joe :confused:

This was posted on another forum by a knowledgable member. I know the backspacing is just over 6" for sure.

OEM Spec. +40 mm offset and 6. 1" Backspace

Those are the correct numbers.

The problem is finding other wheels that have it. Centerline, Weld, and Eagle Alloys have some wheels that work. I'm running the Eagle 114's on my truck with 33's and they don't rub and only stick out 1. 5". They have 6" backspace but are 9. 5" wide.

The oem backspacing is 6. 25" If you buy a wheel with 6" backspacing it works out pretty well. On my truck my 35" Toyo Mt's stick out just a little bit. With the rims being Centerline's (20" x 8. 5") you stay inside the fender wells pretty good. With 9" rims or wider you are gonna really stick out. On my 04' i had 18" x 9" rims and had to run Bushwacker flares (the medium-wide) versions. Also, turning at slow speeds was difficult on my truck. Also had Kore/DRC suspension system with that wheel combo. Not sure if that hurt my steering or what? Good luck.

Here's what mine look like with the Eagle 114's. They are 6" backspace and 9. 5" wide with 325/60R18's. I think I'll end up with flares because they throw the road spray all over the side of the truck when it rains:
