2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission stolen ctd truck

:{ I just found out that a fellow worker here on the DIG just had his 2500 ctd stolen:{ from our jobsite this morning. No security system I have been meaning to put a hidden toggle in mine like I have in my 85 ramcharger,It's a toggle switch that I spliced into a coil wire that kills the juice to the ignition. what wire can I splice into in my 3500 that will do the same. I've seen to many problems with the factory installed systems failing and not letting you in or start your vehicle ,thats why I want a simple switch. he's a good guy,I hope that #@$%! guy gets caught and my fellow DIGGER gets his truck back.

Find the wire that makes it so you can't start the truck without the clutch pedal down. You will still have to push the clutch pedal down to start, but when you add your switch to this wire, you have one anti-theft feature now.



I hope this keeps your CTD in your driveway.

What about the wire to the fuel cut off soloniod (if 2002's have one that is)

My suggestion- put switches in BOTH the fuel solenoid relay and clutch safety switch circuits.

Hey guys, thanks for the reply. I feel like an idiot not thinking of the clutch wire,what an easy job. I looked under the dash and there was the wire. I'll do that one and maybe the fuel one too . OH almost forgot -my fellow DIGGERs truck hasn't been found yet:{

good news

Hey guys HE GOT HIS TRUCK BACK THIS MORNING . Oo. . It's cool knowing that you guys are out there willing to help out a fellow CTD owner. Hope to see you all at the next meet,soon I hopeOo. . If you ever see a truck fitting the discription of mine(ARMY NATIONAL GUARD)plate attatched to the headache rack ,IT'S STOLEN,stop it and ask questions later . NO ONE DRIVES IT BUT ME!!!!

MINOR DAMAGE

Almost forgot,the only damage was the bumpers were banged up and the ignition was pulled. He couldn't figure out why anyone would steal it,It has over 300,000 miles:--) on it. I told him it's because it's a CUMMINS TURBO DIESEL . it was found about two miles from the job at a train station --DARN JOYRIDERS- but they had good taste

BIGDIG... ... good to hear he got it back with little damage. The last member (down south somewhere) that reported a stolen truck got his back with significant damage.
