Well woke up this morning to my passenger side door wide open and my smarty gone. I doubt ill get lucky enough to ever find the #$#@% that took it but if anyone finds one for sale that is vin locked i would give anything to find the person that took it. What really pisses me off is that it is usless to anyone but me. And with my jammers its gona make it all but impossible to tow anything heavy(was programed on sw9). By the way it was stolen in antioch ca. Im going to file it with the antioch pd just in case it turns up somewhere.

sorry for your loss. this is the third one that I am aware of. It you need a receipt for insurance please let me know.

thieves suck

with a 500 deductible i doubt its worth the hassle to try the insurance but i really appreciate the offer. Im probably going to just have to buy another one down the road when money permits. (took me six months of stashing to get the first one). At least it was on 9 so no one can use it. #@$%!

Will another smarty be able to work to recover stock programming on a truck that is set on sw9?

I was wondering the same thing. Will he have to send in the engine ecm to have it reprogramed? Is it considered a full catcher ecm now?

The thieves have a good code reader if nothing else.

Here the pawn shops have to receive and check the local police reports for stolen property and have to report anything that comes in that is on the list of stolen property. I would check that in your area.

Hendricks---if you need to borrow an ECM (for towing or ????) I have an original MADECM for a CA 99 truck---you can pm me or email me -- email address removed -- and we can figure something out..... chris

another smarty will work just fine and I can send Bill a demo box if he wants to switch to a lower level.

The stolen smarty is useless to anyone else.

Thanks for the offer Chris

Thanks Bob for clearing that up. I was only wondering because I had a superchips tuner back in the day & it died in the middle of switching to a stock software right before calibrating my speedometer back to stock. I sent it back to superchips & the truck still has the speedometer calibration for 33" tires... . superchips says that It was ok to sell the tuner when I got it back. I never reloaded it on my truck..... sold it & it is working fine for the buyer. I'm not sure how, but I got a freebee tire calibration. The buyer said that it adjusted his tire height fine.

Hey Bob -

It's probably more work than it's worth, but what if smarty had a key lock like cell phones do or some sort of user PIN? It wouldn't help in this case but had Hendricks been in the stock setting, the theif could have a useable Smarty.

That would be cool..... then I could keep my brother from trying to steal mine.

ya know my only comfort in this is that some theif isnt going to get to enjoy my bombs. My sorrow is that it will probably just end up in a garbage can when they figure out they cant use it.

I got my house robbed & lost [2] Quads that cost $9000 each + extras, a gun & they kicked in my door to my house too. Homeowners insurance wouldn't cover the quads. I know what you are going through... . I feel for ya Buddy. They'll pay one day... . God didn't miss the show!

Tell me about it..... I lost both of my parents between 2002 & 2004 to cancer. It was my parents house & my dads gun..... I'm still searching for the guy who did this... . enough said.
