Hope some one has a thought.

A frend of mine has a stock w-250 1998- and he will be going down the road and the throtel loses all control, just like it is not hocked up to any thing. He went to the Dodge Dealers and they said there was nothing rong and no codes in the computer.

He said that if he pulls over and restarts it every thing is fine. Happend 6 or 7 times the other day when he was on a bad road

way out in the out back. Gave him the willys. Mine did the same thing in cruse but it was the speed pulse senser and when I changed it out this problem stoped.

But his is doing this when not in cruse. Any help wood be apreseated.

after my discussion tonight with cummins specialist, i would change out the fuel cut off solenoid relay. located on the firewall port side above the fuel filter on my 96 rig. he said anytime it quits running or won't start/hard to start... this is the 1st place to go. good luck. scott.

Thanks for the reply. we will try that first thing in the morning.

Or I can whate and when he is real pisssss. , maybe I can by it cheep. But that wood be a durty thing to do to a frend.

Thanks Scott.

Most dealers will move a broken part out of the way to get at the computer plug without even noticing it's broken. These guys are used to working on new gassers where the computer tells them everything, if it doesn't then nothings wrong. They don't know what to do after that. Sounds like the problem is one of the linkage hold down bolts has come loose or is missing. Check for lose/missing parts on the entire linkage. Highly doubt if the problem is electrical unless the engine is shuting down completely. Think you might have a very easy almost free fix.

What engine?

You say this is a '98 2500. What engine is it, the 12 valve or 24 valve? By the way you describe the problem it sounds like an electrical problem on an electronicly controled ISB. Maybe a loose connection? You said it happened a lot on a rough road. Well I really have no clue so I should be quiet and let the ones who know more about these talk.

Mark= It is a 12 valve and it realy gets bad on bad roads. I am with you that it is a short or bad plugin. It could be a bad selonoid. And is braking the sercut when on rought roads.

We are to the point that we will try anything. Thanks.
