Storm Chasers?

Are there any of you Certified Storm Chasers out there? Last night I was BS'in with some friends in town. We of course know there's a storm rollin in. One friend of ours who was sittin there goes "Well Guys I gotta run, time to go chasin. " We all look at him funny and I realized that he had a Storm Chaser Sticker on the side of his truck! So a couple of us went with. Oo. There was a total of 4 trucks with 2 ham operators. We unfortunatly Mis-guessed the way the storm path was going and missed the fun stuff by about 3 miles. :{



This was a blast! Oo. Are there any of you guys out there that do this? Are there any of you guys who have some "Oh Crap" stories about this stuff?



Now that Duluth Diesel has his Ham... and has been harassing me to get mine... . I may now have 2 reasons to get mine! :-laf

Never certified, or hammed, but having grown up in SW Okla. developed a desire to chase the biggest, blackest, most lightningest clouds around. You wanna chase some storms, that's the place to be. Like you said, you miss some, and some you get hammered by. Hail ain't no fun, but its a real risk with a storm of any real size. Now, living in VA, people look at me like I'm nuts when I want to take off after a good one. Good luck and stay safe.

I've always wanted to chase but never had the oppertunity to do so not many twisters in VT or AZ so far!!!!
