Big thunder-boomer dropped a limb on my truck yesterday. 90-percent of it fell into the bed (protected by liner/rail caps/rails/toolbox). The other 10 hit the dang C-pillar and left a double-fist sized crunch.

My girlfriend says that she paid $2500 to get a smaller dent fixed--I said I'll buy the equipment for that much.

So to the bodyshops I go this morning. I tell the first guy that I'm paying CASH out of pocket. He looks at it and we talk and settle on $150-doable this week-on a handshake.

The next shop is a bit fancy with computers and all that jazz. I spend 30 minutes there waiting for a two-page detailed estimate (I told them CASH too) for $262. 00 as the owner wanders off again.

Now that I've kinda gotten over the sickness of having to have bodywork on my truck, I realize it's a real blessing in disguise. Now I HAVE to fix the Ford to have a driver for the repair days. Then the Ford will be sellable for BOMB money!

What the hey I finally said about the damage-it's a tough HD truck and the damage shouldn't result in leaks or noise or misalignment. So I'm going back to the $150 shop.

And getting a carport SOON.

Sure am sorry to hear about your bad luck Wade. Thankfully there are no tree's in our yard (or backyard where I park).

I was at work Saturday night and it must have stormed at the house while I was out, because when I turned off the main Hwy to a backroad (shortcut to my house) right when I clicked the high beams I saw a nice 3-or so inch thick branch hanging down low enough to do so much damage.

Thankfully no one was coming out of that road at 1AM :-laf
