Is there any reason that straight piping would cause the any problems with the A/C unite on an '06. My friend just straight piped his and the A/C imidiately stoped working. I am thinking coincidence.

can't think of any reason, try checking the fuses or the plug on the back of the pushbutton came off for some reason.

The exhaust system has nothing to do with the a. c. system. Maybe you were leaning over the top of the engine and messing with the exhaust and hit the electrical connection with the compressor or a low/high pressure switch on the lines.

I have welded on mine without disconnecting the batteries and no problems. Check the AC electrical plug that dangles in the way under the oil filter.

The ECM, PCM, Battery and ABS computer should all be disconnected and the ground should be very near the weld location. Otherwise... its a crap shoot.
