www.summitracing.com has a turbo to tailpipe 4" exhaust for a very reasonable price. It list it as cat back (why I do not know) but it is a full exhaust from turbo to tailpipe. It is sold under their name summitracing but made by a different entity.

EDIT:: I think www.jegs.com sells them too.

Just click on the blue urls above and it will take you to their web sites.

Terry at Auto-jet.com sells a 4" muffler replacement pipe for $ 54 (test pipe) , and a 4" tailpipe for $89. These are mandrel bent aluminized steel.

4" muffler is $93

stainless clamps are about $6 each. :D

I just dumped the muff. and left the resonator... stock 3" exhaust... sounds great. no drone. couldn't tell hardly any diff. from inside the cab... but listening to my truck drive off or drive by... NICE BIG DIFFERENCE!

I installed a 4" exhaust and it was way too loud with the drone. I put a 2nd muffler in the system and it did not change at all. I am not sure what to do next.

Go to a 5"? I drove a friends truck yesterday which had a 5" exhaust. Can you say dumptruck? That thing sounded awesome. No drone, no louder inside than stock, but MAJOR difference outside.

Clamp angle iron to it. It will change the frequency of resonance--that is, it will change the RPM/load where it drones. Try more, try less, try longer, try shorter, it WILL work.

search for "drone"

straight pipe

Man I had Andy at ADT put 4 inch straight Bully Dog exhaust on mine two years ago. I don't think there is any more noise inside the cab. Now outside is a different story. But I love it and it does not bother me.

But then I am a Harley rider

drone

drone is usually targeted with a resonator. A resonator is just a small straight through muffler like chamber that is larger in diameter inside than the pipe entering and leaving. This chamber allows the exhaust gasses to expand (an expansion chamber) , and the gasses subsequently slow down. This creates a resistance in front of the flow from the engine.

some performance is lost, but it is effective in tuning/attenuating the sound.

This is one of the reason, just pounding out the ceramic brick in a cat is less than ideal in a quest for performance in an exhaust system, (not to mention illegal) as it creates a huge expansion chamber which dramatically slows the exhaust flow.

it doesn't slow the flow as much as the catalyst does though...

ok, damn you all ... I am in... more money out the door in December

Does anyone know where I can get this done and the $$$ in CA ?

just strait STOCK (for now)

*******s...

If you do not have a catalytic converter it shouldn't be too hard to find someone to do it. I went to a local muffler shop that still does custom work. They charged me $40 to remove the resonator and muffler and weld in a piece of pipe. You should be able to find a similar deal out there. The only variable should be if the labor rates are higher in California.

It's well worth the $40!!

$60 to hack out the muf and res here in Phoenix metro area. Of course then, I had to buy the big chrome exhaust tip, you know, while I was there... ... ..... :D

Any muffler shop should do it. I went with the performance muffler shop here in town, instead of the Midas or weenie mass marketed shops. That way, the fellas at the perf shop knew exactly why I was doing it and didn't give me any grief over it.
