New issue just made itself known. I took the truck through the drive-through today, and when I was going around the tight bend, I noticed a grinding/rubbing/popping kind of noise that seems to be coming from under the cab somewhere. Only does it (that I can notice) when the wheel is turned full lock at idle speed. After I straighten out, the sound goes away after a few feet. Tires don't seem to contact from what I can see when I look under the truck. Could this be the diff? It's a '93 D250 diesel with the D70 rear end, and if the sticker under the hood is accurate, it's got the anit spin and "3.5" gears.... which I assume is 3.54 or 3.55?

If it's 4x4, could be the front u-joints binding. they'll also make a slight clicking when traveling straight and slight turn of the wheel.

I have no idea when it was done last, I just bought the truck on Thursday. The guy I bought it from wasn't sure when any of the services were done last, so I am taking it in this weekend and getting every service done to it.

I am hoping that I didn't get a lemon lol. I went over the truck with a fine tooth comb, and it seemed to be in amazing condition for being 30 years old. Could not find a spec of rust anywhere on it, paint is great, interior is good... not even any rips in the seat. Fires up almost before I even get the key turned all the way, trans shifts smooth. I have never had a diesel before. Don't really need one, or even a 3/4 ton, but I wanted to get a truck that was overbuilt so it'll last the rest of my life. Hopefully this will be it once I get everything sorted.

If it is only at full lock and idle speed - leave it alone for now.
These old trucks make all kinds of funny noises.

Sure do change all oils/fluids including brake fluid and coolant and your good to go.

I would also check the front wheel bearings, seen before when they start to get loose its noticeable at full lock as the tire side load makes the rotor hit the pads but ok going straight until they get worse.

Chances are it will be a fairly easy fix, wouldn't get too worked up and think the truck is a lemon just because of this, its 30 years old some things will need attention.
