Strange heater/AC operation today

I've been using the heater mostly as of late, but today at lunch, I had to use the A/C (damn Southern California and it's occasional warm weather). I turned the dial to cool, and readjusted the air to the upper vents, but nothing happened. While playing with the air direction knob, I did initially get some changes (I don't remember exactly), but it eventually got to the point where hot air only came out at my feet (despite having it on cool with the A/C on, and the air direction set to upper/lower). The knobs had no affect.



After turning the vehicle off, I turned it back on, and the air direction dial seemed to work. I had to go, so I couldn't play with it anymore.



Did the truck just have an electrical glitch, and turning the key off then on reset it? Anyone else have this? Bob?

Found and fixed the problem.

What was the solution? Just in case I have the same problem.

I know my heater blend door makes some noise once in a while. But it's tolerable and the heat gets to where its supposed to.

It was a loose connection on the back of the control panel. I removed the center panel, and lightly tugged on the harness. It felt secure, but then I pushed in on the connector, and it clicked into place. It works great, now!

I'll have to check that on mine. Once in a while mine will refuse to put out cold air until I shut off the truck andd restart.
