2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission strange knocking noise

I recently noticed a strange knocking feeling through the steering wheel when i begin braking... i actually feel it knock in the steering

,,then when i accelarate again it seems to knock the other way. .

I checked the usuall things,,loose wheels,,brake calipers,,rotors bolts,,evrything seems tight. .

This has been going on for a few months now,,and is getting annoying. .

The dealer doesn't know anything...

Anyone have any ideas???

Does it do it all the time? Does it do it when you first start out in the morning? If it doesn't happen when you first start out (or isn't as bad) I'd look for a caliper hanging up and heating the rotor to the point it warps. (This doesn't take a lot, the rotors are small for the size/weight of the truck).



I'd look for a cracked rotor, warped rotor (use a dial indicator) or a loose wheel bearing.

All the brake parts were replaced not too long ago,,

rotors,calipers,pads. .

I noticed a lot of different posts about this problem,,,i guess its a common problem again. .

I hope i keep getting ideas on a fix

Mine is doing the same thing. I just replaced the front rotors, brakes, and wheel bearings. The best front end man in Nashville says he can't find anything wrong either.

strange knock noise

Hi my name is bryce and im a tech for red bluff chrysler dodge.

the noise ur hereing is in the steering shaft from the colum to the gear. . replace intermediate shaft and let me know how it goes. any questions get a hold of me at... -- email address removed --
