My truck has a strange miss. It will start to miss when cold if you slowly increase the RPMs , but if you take off and drive there is no miss as long as you don't hammer it. When it is warmed up it will only miss if it is idling and you punch it to make smoKe and noise. It will never miss while driving and runs and starts very well. I am thinking that new injectors could cure this problem but I haven't ruled out an air leak in the system.

Anybody had a miss like this?

Thanks

Not exactly. I have 308+K miles on a set of squirties and they cause the engine to (slow) idle rough all the time. The engine acts like it's got a wicked bad cam. Other than that, they work great when I hammer it "AND" while driving like Grandma. Don't miss a beat and the rough (slow) idle isn't ambient nor engine temp sensitive.

Maybe this helps (?)

I had a very similar problem that was also ambient temperature sensitive. . . . turned out it was the fuel line hose between the steel line from the tank and the lift pump on the side of the engine. I replaced it with generic fuel line from NAPA and the problem was not really corrected. I then noted that their was dampness on the steel fuel line next to where the hose slides on to the fuel line. This time I used fuel line rated for all types of fuel and fuel injection service - I also used high end hose clamps - problem went away. The generic fuel line currently available is apparently not suitable for diesel service . . . . .

Marine fuel line rated for all fuels will probably also work in this application - but in our part of the world it is not that easy to find . . . .

Good luck
