Have a '97 with radio and casette player and now have a strange problem with my radio. It's happened a few times before but cleared up by itself in a few minutes. The clock and radio display are dark when ignition is turned on; after turning radio on only 1 speaker works, and it's very loudly, non of the other controls work at all. Have tried disconnecting the batteries but no change. Any body have this problem? Any body have any suggestions to fix it short of getting a new radio?

Thanks

I can't answer your question but I have a stock AM/FM/cassette out of my 96 that I will give you if you can't get yours going. I'm not sure if it would be a direct replacement. Drop me a note if you need it.

I likewise have the stock radio/cassette out of my '98. All four speakers, too. Replaced them with a CD player and new speakers a few months ago.

Let me know if you need any parts.

I have a problem with my cassette player in my 95, too. It wants to chew up the tapes. Any fix for this or do I just have to replace? Wonder if the 96-98 models are interchangeable?

Thanks

Hey guys,

All of a sudden my FM quit working, its the stock am/fm cassette in my 95. Its probably not fixable so I'm looking for a stock replacement to tied me over until I can afford a good system with CD.

Thanks,

Bugman.

It sounds like radios are a real problem. My 96 am/fm/cass. loses its signal from the antenna. If I take out the ash tray and push down on the wire it will come back to life or slam the dash with my fist works sometimes.

If someone wants to be free of thier stock unit at a fair price let me know.
