When words fail

I find it strange that a person can come here with a bunch of cash, be on a government (INS) terrorist watch list, use their real names, apply for government license (FAA), to learn to fly very large aircraft and nobody cross checks.

Yet here in Washington State a honest citizen applies for a conceiled weapons permit and you are finger and palm printed, and basically checked out better than potential pilots?

Well, you don't need a license to LEARN how to fly. Just like you don't need a license to LEARN how to shoot. It's only when you want to LEGALLY fly or LEGALLY shoot that you need the license.

This licensing policy is to weed out the bad apples from LEGALLY being able to do these things.

Obviously, the terrorists never intended to get legal, they just needed to know HOW to fly 757's, and paid their money to the flight schools.

(notice how these various flight schools were free to gladly take their money)

This IS a free country, and the terrorists used that to their advantage. They will also find out about the consequences of abusing this freedom. It's either that, or take the freedoms away, which is what made our country great to begin with.

MAKE THEM PAY!

I couldn't agree with you more, it is just odd how we fail to question when large amounts of money are invovled.
