over by the head lamp switch. It snaps periodically while driving, sounds like a fuse snapping, but everything works.

Has anybody experinced this, and what is it?

I know this is an old post... but my truck is making the same noise- kind of a quiet popping noise, will happen even when the key is not in the ignition, or hours after being parked. Have no idea what causes it. Although lately I have been blowing fuses for the cigarette lighter and power plug when using the spotlight- now just switching on the light blows the fuses and it never has a chance to cut on. Any ideas on this? Almost everything else seems to work fine, except for an occasional bright flash of light from the radio- at first I thought it was my eyes, until a passenger admitted to seeing it too. Surely someone has a fix?

BTW, my truck is a 96 standard cab auto 4wd, dern near stock. 154k+ miles. replaced headlight switch, and door jamb switches some time back.

my snap is coming from the A pillar. sounds like it might be the dash on that side or somewhere else near there. but i can push on the A pillar and i get the same sound. i pulled the pillar cover and spread out the clips a bit and pushed the pillar cover back in. snap doesn't occur as much but it still occurs from time to time, just like yours, but it only comes from the lower position now instead of various places on the A pillar.

forgot to mention that the snap didn't start happening until the winter temperatures hit. maybe when it warms up the plastic, or something else, with expand and quiet it down. i also noticed the gap between the driver's side dash and A pillar is farther apart during the winter than it was last spring, summer, and early fall. the dash has not been taken off, other than the front cover for a radio change out.
