I'm on my second VP, third LP and second APPS... . 130,000 miles Fuel pressure is a constant 12 psi. If I drive on the highway for a few miles... the power cuts out. I can get my power back by pushing in my clutch and waiting until the RPM's go to idle speed, then I let clutch out and something "resets" itself and I regain power once again for a few miles.

Any ideas? This has been happening for about 2 months... I'm just now getting the time to look into it.

Humm... . sounds wierd. I'm not much of a 24v guy... . but my guess would lean me to a sensor that is dropping out intermittantly. You may not be able to easly find it. I'd hook a scan tool to it and watch the inputs to the ECM.

Any codes???? That is the best place to start, there is a code list here on TDR somewhere. If you have a 01 or later,(I think) you can read them on the odometer, no scan too required. Cycle the key to the "run" position and back to "off" 3 times, and leave it "on" the 3rd time and if there is any they will scroll across the odometer. If there isn't it will tell you. Even if it's an intemmitent fault it will set a code. (hopefully)!!!

Correct,

It should. If there are codes there is a chance you will get companion codes also (or that may be just my experience). If your truck is older go to AutoZone or something, they will scan for codes for free.

That sounds like the early stages of another VP failure, but its wierd that it has lasted that long without getting worse.

Check codes and update us.

I sent away for some code reading software for my laptop... hopefully I'll get it tomorrow and be able to read it. :) My truck is a 99.

I got my software and code reader today... installed software on my laptop and hooked it up to my 99. . what a waste of money. I'm sending it back to get my $105. 00 refund.

BFD, I can see a kewel little chart that tells me my rpm. I can also look at my dam%$! tach and see that. I get a cheesy "formula" for calculating my HP. This thing is a POS.

Sheeeesh, is there any one out there who sells anything for under $300. 00 or $400. 00 to delve into the mysterious OBDII crapola..... doesnt the Cummins ECU store some info?

Any help would be appreciated.
