I am getting a virbration sound under the following condition: engage the clutch in 2nd gear, start moving without using the acceraltor, vibration noise starts. Continue accelerating and vibration stops. I have checked the exhaust system and it appears to be tight.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mick

carrier bearing

Check your carrier bearing. Mine is about to go and with only 21,000 on it. 2005 CTD NV5600 LWB QC 4X4

how do you check this?

I have some wierd rattles, and it is going to the dealer on Monday.

They don't seem to "find" stuff unless I tell them where to look

I think I may have found the solution to the vibrations. TSB 03-003-04 talks about drive line shutter with the cure being adjusting the angle of the u joints. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks

Mick

Mine vibrated the same as that, just moments before one of the u-joints on the rear shaft locked up. I thought at first carrier bearing, especially when I jacked the rear up and moved the tires. You could see the joint at the carrier bearing wobbling off center, but when I removed the shaft, the bearing was ok. Replaced all three U-Joints and put in a spacer under the carrier bearing, and no more vibes. This happened at 76k, so it seems I got more miles out of them than most others.
