Fuel Pump Questions

Here is a strange one for everyone to read and hopefully have a comment on. I had a dead tree in my side yard and tried to pull it over with my 4-wheeler but, it was hopeless. So, I hooked a few tow straps together brought my 05 around the house and hooked up in 4-Wheel Low. I barely had to touch the fuel pedal before it fell over. Anyway, the strange thing that happened is after I put it back in 2-wheel drive and drove back in front of my garage, I put it in park and my windows wouldn't go up... ... ... Then my brake light and ABS light came on. The truck still seemed to sound fine, but the windows wouldn't go up. I shut the truck down and restarted and then everything was fine. I tried to do a search and couldn't find anything, but I'm fairly new to TDR, so maybe I didn't do the search right? If anyone has seen or heard of this happening, please reply. I have a 2005 2500 Auto CC short bed, fully stock.

Thanks,

David

That's what we call a "bug". These trucks are rolling computers, and just like you occassionally get the "blue screen of death" from Microsoft, the same thing happens to vehicles now too. There are some stories of various otherwise unrelated systems doing very weird things around here, but each one is pretty unique.

Bottom line is I wouldn't worry about it at this point. If things begin happening regularly, and you can reproduce them, then you can take it to the dealer.

So it's just like a computer at home or work-- If you have trouble closing all the windows, shut down and re-boot. :-laf

If the igntion(key)is between start and run it will do this. Lots of keys (heavy)on a key ring or a badly worn key. Also try a shot of WD40 in the igntion switch.
