Where is the strangest place you have seen a cell phone being used?

My strangest was yesterday, a cattle drive was going down the road and one of the cowboys (on a horse of course) was taking part in controlling the cows and talking on the cell phone.

Well the best one I can think of here happened a few years ago at the Keystone Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway. Seems the area is well known for poor cell reception and a very famous funny car pilot was trying to make a business call. It had him infuriated because the call was not going thru. Its was a rain delay and since nothing was happening he decided he would ride his scooter to the top of a nearby farmers cattle field hill to make it.

He left the track, as we sportsman racers watched(where we were pitted was near the field and a birdseye view of what happened next) he opened the cattle gate and then rode his scooter all the way up the hill, spinning slipping and sliding. The lady of the house seen this wildman, who she did not recognize, and promptly called the local law. As they arrived to meet her at the open gate, the driver was beginning his decent down the hill. The law and land owner met at the gate and when she seen who it was she was very embarrased and the cops got a good chuckle. Yep,there he was in his glory, covered in mud from the motorscooter he borrowed and spun to the top of a very slick wet hill and slid half way back down. The criminal in question who was trespassing, why none other than 11 time Funny car Champ ... ... John Force.

The ESPN gang had a riot with the story on tv later that day... . Andy

Right behind me while watching Red Dragon. She was also the one that brought in her little 3 year old with her to watch Red Dragon.

I was behind a woman at Burger king and she was getting the order of every one at home while we all waited for her to get done. I have a friend that hunts with a buddy and they use theirs to call back and forth to say one is coming your way.

How about this... ... ... . so here we are, in the back country of Northern MI, campin' and huntin'. Just tents and basic things, no runnin' water or stoves, or "beds" persay. Just nature at it's best, birds chirpin', leaves rattlin', so quiet you can hear the soft snowflakes touch the ground.

Then outta nowhere I hear (insert phone dialin' noises here), so I move from the warm campfire, to investigate. Low and behold, it's my silly freind, in his tent callin' his wife, DOH! Keep in mind, that was our first night on the trip, it's not like we've been gone a month. Good thing his battery went dead after day two, otherwise, I may have had to see how good cell phones held-up to the "Master- Lock" bullet test. Cell phones are great, but NOT while I'm campin' and huntin'.

I guy I took on a tandem skydive wanted to call his wife in freefall. Told him the phone wasn't gonna work at 120 MPH straight down and wind noise would be too loud anyhow.

Well what do I know about skydiving anyway and he was addament that it would work 'cause he's got a degree in electrical engineering bla bla bla... ... well I almost ****** my pants laughing when he dropped the cell phone while we were under canopy, after getting it out of his jumpsuit 'cause it woudln't work in freefall... ... .....

Guilty

Okay - I'm guilt of calling a buddy while skinning a Elk deep in a canyon of NE Oregon while it's snowing:rolleyes:

There were no pay phones at the county fair we went to in Maine this summer, me and my New England Dodge buddies (see this is even diesel related), but there was a phone on the side of one building you could use to make a credit card call. It also had a long line. The cell reception was lousy, but I was told that for a price the ferris wheel driver would park you at the top of the arc where the reception was much better.

A couple years ago in June in south east Wyoming I was up in the mountains. It was 28 degrees and snowing. It cost me probably $3. 00 per minute because of roaming charges, but I had to call my brother. He works for a grading company in Raleigh, NC.

I told him it was 28 and snowing, how was the weather there. He was in the bottom of a ditch and it was 99 degrees and humidity so thick you could swim through it.

Best phone call I've ever made.
